Through the short metal tube of his looking glass, Kester Menin watched the last of the strangers as they headed into the pass, the dying vestiges of sunlight glinting off helms and armor. He ignored the misty swirls of his breath as it spiraled up. Why anyone would want to find a home in Benez’s ruins was beyond him.
