Epic Fantasy Map for Game of Souls

So for a Game of Souls, Book 1 in the Quintessence Cycle, I had to build a new map. After all, it’s a completely new world crafted from scratch. It does exist in the same Omniverse as Denestia, which should make for some good future content in the coming years. My cartography and skill in photoshop, fractal terrains and campaign cartographer have increased with my writing. So has my formatting in fact. A Brief History of Denestia

Denestia is a world in a vast universe created by a great God named the Aenead. Upon the universe’s construction the Aenead slumbered, separating his consciousness into several formless, divine beings which later became known as the gods that he tasked with populating the universe with planets and lifeforms. In all, there are 10 recognized gods, although more are said to exist. Adventures in Mapmaking

I decided now was the time to take my map from the numerous rough sketches I have to something more permanent and presentable. Bear in mind, I’ve never done a map before. First, I went about searching for software. After several experiments, I settled on a combination of Fractal Terrains, Campaign Cartographer 3 and Photoshop. Why so many? When I drew my maps free hand, I just didn’t feel like they were representative of a true map. So that’s where Fractal Terrains came in. It randomly generates a world with all the amenities (climate, terrain, river possibilities etc etc.) I chose a part of a Fractal Terrain map of a world to use.
